WEB TIME ENTRY
April Hours
- The deadline for students to submit web time entry hours for April is tomorrow, May 1 by 5pm. Supervisors have until Wednesday, May 2 at NOON to approve hours. The pay date for April hours is Friday, May 4.
May 1-6
- Students will need to sign and submit their time entry for hours worked May 1-6 by NOON on Monday, May 7. Supervisors will need to approve as soon after that as possible, no later than NOON on May 8. Students will be paid on May 10th.
- The students will not be able to enter their time for this week until the April 30th payroll is processed, probably sometime Thursday afternoon (May 3).

Thank you for participating in Student Employee Appreciation Week! I look forward to announcing the winners of the Outstanding Student Employee Awards at the Student Life Recognition Banquet on Friday, April 27. All nominees have been invited, so please encourage the students you nominated to attend.
Remaining hours for 2011-20212
- If you are interested in finding out how many work study hours you have remaining after 3/31/12, please send me an email with your budget number. The department names are not up to date, so I will need your budget number to give you the correct information.
Work Study Budget Allocations 2012-2013
- For the time being, please hire returning students up to the amount of hours that you were awarded last year.
- The current work study budget is the same as last year’s budget, but there is flexibility to approve new positions based on the number of incoming students that accept work study.
- We will not know how many new positions can be approved until after National Decision Day for the incoming class on May 1.
- Budget allocations will be confirmed by the end of May prior to incoming students applying for work study jobs (starting June 1). Thanks for your patience.
Here are the remaining web time entry deadlines for the 2011-2012 academic year. Summer work study will then start on Monday, May 7. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
- Tuesday, May 1, 5pm: Deadline for students to sign and submit April work study hours
- Wednesday, May 2, 12pm: Deadline for supervisors to approve April hours (This is a quick turnaround! Please plan accordingly.)
- Friday, May 4: Pay date for April hours
There will be a separate payroll for students who work May 1-May 6.
March Web Time Entry
- Students have until Sunday, April 1 at midnight to submit March web time entry hours.
- Supervisors have until Tuesday, April 3 at NOON to approve hours.
- Students will be paid on April 10.
Hours Usage for 2011-2012
- Steve Mandeville will run a report at the end of March for each department giving an update of usage of work study hours.
- I will also send out a spreadsheet of hours for all work study students that can be sorted by department. The Informer report will be updated slowly (our program is still not working so the information needs to be entered manually), but this spreadsheet will provide the same information.

- Please work with your department to complete the budget request form by Friday, March 30. You are encouraged to be creative in developing new job opportunities.
- As a reminder, new students will be eligible for up to $2000 and returning students will be eligible for up to $2400. Minimum wage is currently $7.25/hour.
- This form will only be accepted electronically (send to kwellinghoff@maryville.edu).

- Attached you will find the student employee authorization forms for Summer 2012, Fall 2012 and Spring 2013.
- Forms will only be accepted electronically.
- I encourage you to begin posting new jobs for summer and fall in Career Connections. You can choose the date that you want the job positing to first appear.
- Please feel free to begin submitting summer authorization forms as well. You can use your summer allotment from last year as an estimate of hours for this summer.

February Web Time Entry
- Students have been notified to submit February hours by February 29 at midnight because of Spring Break. However, the system will remain open until March 1 at midnight.
- Supervisors have until Monday, March 5 at NOON to approve hours, but I encourage you to approve earlier if possible. If you will be out of the office, please approve your students’ hours before you leave or make arrangements for your alternate to approve hours.
- I will be out of the office beginning March 2, so any late time sheets submitted will be processed with the March payroll. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for students to submit web time entry by the deadline if they want to be paid in March.
Work Study Changes for 2012-2013
- Thank you for attending the supervisor update meetings last week to learn about the significant work study changes for 2012-2013! You can view the PowerPoint from the meeting under Supervisor Training . Please let me know if you have any questions.
- If you did not attend one of the meetings, please contact me with any questions. The changes go into effect starting in March when work study awarding will begin.
