Arkansas Symposium for Psychology Students (ASPS)
Psychology Colleagues in Arkansas and Neighboring States,
I invite you and your students to join us at the 28th Annual Arkansas Symposium for Psychology Students (ASPS) on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The symposium will be held in the Department of Psychology and Counseling in Mashburn Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.
ASPS is a great venue for undergraduate and graduate students to make research presentations (15 min oral presentation or 1 hr poster presentation) in a low-stress environment. Student presentations can be based on data collected for a class, data collected as a research assistant, data collected for an independent project, or any other type of quantitative or qualitative analysis. The deadline for abstract submission is April 1.
ASPS is pleased that Bob Bailey will be the Keynote Speaker at lunch. He is an internationally known expert in animal training and its application to entertainment, advertising, and military use. In addition to this special session, ASPS will also offer breakfast discussions with professionals, as well as sessions on maintaining a vibrant Psi Chi/Psychology Club, getting into graduate school, getting grants for research, and publishing research. So, if students don’t have research to present, they can still benefit from simply attending. To keep the conference affordable, the registration fee is only $30.
