TurningPoint (Clickers)TurningPoint 5 is an interactive response technology that allows educators to engage and assess their students learning in real time. TurningPoint 5 provides this ability in two ways. First, you can create interactive slides in PowerPoint, where instructors can “poll” students on their understanding to questions posed. Second, you can use these “polling” devices while watching videos, visiting websites, or during lecture (with OR without PowerPoint) to questions posed on the fly (Anywhere Polling).
You will only need a few things to get started with TurningPoint 5: clickers, an instructor response device (USB), and TurningPoint 5 downloaded on the computer that is going to be used.
Clickers and the instructor response device can be checked out from the library by the instructor for a single class use OR purchased by students at the University Bookstore for semester or longer-term use.

Turnitin (Plagiarsm Detection & Grademark)At Maryville, the use of Turnitin is integrated within the D2L dropbox. Turnitin’s OriginalityCheck helps instructors check students’ work for improper citation or potential plagiarism by comparing it against a huge text comparison database, including web pages, student papers, leading library databases and publications. GradeMark allows instructors to add editorial highlights, custom comments, and QuickMark editing marks directly on the student papers submitted to D2L dropbox. Turnitin’s PeerMark, used for Peer Review, is not available through the D2L integration.
