Job Title: Intern for Republican Committee
Date Posted: December 14, 2009
The GOP Internship Program is looking for campaign interns and a limited number of paid campaign staffers, with most intern and staff positions starting in late May 2010 or mid August 2010.
The program is an exciting opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience in Missouri political campaigns by interning with a Republican candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives or the Missouri Senate.
Full and part time internships are available for summer and fall 2010. A limited number of salaried campaign positions may also be available for highly qualified applicants.
Currently, the program is only available to hard-working and analytical Law, Pre-Law, Political Science, Communications, Public Relations and Marketing students with superior verbal communication and writing skills.
Salaried staff will be expected to commit to the campaign from late May until the General Election in early November; participants in the Summer Internship Program will work from late May until the beginning of school in mid August, and participants in the Fall Internship Program will work from mid August until early November.
Interns and campaign staff are needed for competitive House and Senate races around the state, in college towns, suburban and rural areas. As such, program administrators will work with those selected to assign them to their preferred location for placement, but participation in the program may or may not require relocation to a location where assistance is needed.
Based on the experiences of past interns, students can expect the possibility of virtually limitless exciting job responsibilities, tasks, projects, assignments and duties depending on their demonstrated ability to work hard, think analytically, communicate well and be trusted.
As past participants can testify, the benefits of this opportunity include:
Gaining experience campaign management useful in future management endeavors;
Applying basic marketing techniques to real-world scenarios;
Actually being part of something exciting and which matters greatly;
Networking and making life-long friendships with other interns, campaign staff and candidates; and
Opening the door to a career in politics, government or business.
If you qualify for the internship and would like to interview for placement, please email your resume, cover letter and preferred location(s) for placement to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than December 18, 2009.
