Collect plastic grocery bags to donate to
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s Backpack Program in St. Clair, MO.

DROP OFF BAGS AT CENTER FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Basically, the backpack program provides at risk children (as determined by the school district) with a backpack filled with nutritious food for them to take home and eat over the weekend/evenings when they might otherwise not get food/meal and possibly go hungry. In the St. Clair area, they pack over 500 bags each month, and they place the food items in plastic sacks that the teachers can then place in the children’s backpacks (so as not to draw attention to the fact that they are getting something sent home with them.
