 Wes Moore
As part of the Maryville Talks Books series, Wes Moore will appear at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown St. Louis. Moore is author of the book, The Other Wes Moore: One Name and Two Fates – A Story of Tragedy and Hope.
Just after being named a Rhodes Scholar, Moore found out there was another Wes Moore, just two years older than him, who lived in the same neighborhood and who was heading to prison for life for the murder of a police officer. He wrote to the other Moore and surprisingly heard back from him. After meeting with him several times in prison and speaking with his family and friends, Moore discovered additional parallels in their lives. Those conversations led him to write The Other Wes Moore.
Maryville Talks Books features lectures by noted authors. Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is open on a first come, first served basis. The program is co-sponsored by Left Bank Books, HEC-TV and St. Louis Public Radio.
