Dr. Parker convinced me to enroll in the MBA program following my undergraduate degree and it was one of the best decisions I could have made.
I also have great memories of Dr. Petzal leading the Edward Jones Internship opportunity I was involved in. We had so much fun!
When people say “I wish I could go back to XXX time and relive it” I think of my years at Maryville. Yes, there were classes to go to and tests to take, but I will always remember the friends I made and the good times we had at college. To this day, I am still close to Gina (Dahlia) Trani, Shannon (Conlan) Walker and Jackie (Hussey) Malt. We were all at each other’s weddings after we graduated and we still get together with our kids and have girls’ weekends. On Facebook, it’s great to keep in touch with everyone (even if they are like me and log on, like, once every two weeks!) We mostly roomed in Duchesne, but Shannon was an RA our senior year so she got her own room in Mouton. We had Thursday night “movie nights” and I don’t think I’ll ever sled down a snow-covered hill quite as steep as the one outside of Duchesne! I just really enjoyed my time at Maryville and hope that my kids have the same experience when they get to college (way, way in the future!)
I belong to a Dinner Club that is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. There are seven couples in our group and all of the women are graduates of Maryville College, Class of 1968. Our friendships were a special gift during our Maryville years and now they are the treasures we cherish and continue to nourish. Our group has grown from the seven Maryville grads and our spouses to a total of 72 including our children, their spouses and our grandchildren. We are all grateful for our years at Maryville and continue to be involved with this wonderful university which is so much more than its academics.
The Dinner Club includes: Connie Moeller Bachmann, Ann Geis Boyce, Andrea Meier Bull,Mary Ann Rotermund Diehr, Susan Kurz Hackmann, Julie Johnson Stein and Addie Dorsey Tomber.
