Maryville has a campus wide license for Grammarly, an online proofreading tool that checks text for grammar, punctuation, and style, and features a contextual spelling checker and plagiarism detector. All students and faculty/staff can create an account and upload an unlimited number of documents into Grammarly, which will provide a detailed proofreading report.

To create an account:

  1. Go to
  2. Provide your name, or email, and password.

*note – feel free to use your Maryville password. This account is not tied to your Maryville account, though (e.g., if you change your Maryville password, it will not change the Grammarly password).
