Student-Athletes Earn GLVC Academic Excellence Award

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced that 10 Maryville University student-athletes earned the GLVC Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award.

In order to be eligible for the GLVC Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award, student-athletes must have exhausted their eligibility in the intercollegiate sport in which they participated and maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 throughout their academic career. In addition, the student-athlete must have competed in the GLVC for a minimum of two years and completed 96 credit hours. A student-athlete can only earn this award one time.

“These student-athletes are a testimate to their dedication and an excellent example of the quality that Maryville University exemplifies,” said Jason Williams, Maryville’s faculty athletics representative.

Four women’s volleyball players, three women’s soccer players, two men’s track and field athletes and one men’s soccer player were awarded this honor. This was the first time Maryville had any student-athletes selected. Below is the complete list:
